Description

The candidate is a world class technologist, who will work on the App Framework team which is a new, integrated platform providing common developer tooling with a focus on developer experience for all applications across the Investment Bank. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of developer experience (DX), web technologies and software architecture and will have built tools and libraries targeting other developers as primary users. We prefer candidates with a broad range of technical experience covering CLI development, UI development, HTTP service development, cloud deployment and performance analysis.

As a Senior Software Engineering (Vice President), your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. Your expertise in various technology domains will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities.

Required:

  • Proficiency in Javascript / Typescript
  • Proficiency in using Node.js
  • Proficiency in web architectures and technologies and web applications using the latest JavaScript technologies including React, HTML5, CSS3 etc.
  • Proficiency in using the latest Javascript / Typescript building toolchain technologies including, for example, tsc, webpack, esbuild.
  • Technical experience covering CLI development, HTTP service development, cloud deployment and performance analysis.
  • An interest in working with the latest Javascript innovations, particularly focusing on ES Modules and micro-frontend architectures.

Good to have:

  • Experience in using monorepo tools including, for example, Rush, Lerna, yarn / npm workspaces.
  • Proficiency with state managing solutions such as Redux, MobX, react-query, Recoil, Zustand.
  • Extensive experience with an industry leading JavaScript testing library - at least one of Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Enzyme or similar
  • Use software engineering best practices including design review, code review, unit-testing, and re-factoring
  • Solid understanding of development using SCRUM and Agile practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
