Our Team

The Digital Infrastructure (DI) team at the Office of Development for University of Michigan employs cutting-edge technology and agile methodologies to develop vibrant and accessible web applications from the ground up.

Your role

We are in search of a JavaScript developer to join the fun, using JavaScript, CSS, and Angular to design and implement a dashboard of metrics and analytics of our continuously evolving technology stack and platforms. Day to day, you will be responsible for interacting with APIs to pull data and format in a way that can then be used to present on the front-end and will include front-end tasks such as designing complex applications to ensure a positive user experience. Our ideal candidate will have experience implementing JavaScript solutions with an emphasis on optimization, API design and architecture while also having an eye for design and the ability to create clean, sharp, and responsive layouts from designs with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. The JavaScript developer will join an amazing development and design team that's constantly challenged working with the latest technologies, creating life-changing solutions, and having a great time doing it.


* Architect, design, develop, and assist in the development of web applications to support internal and external clients and stakeholders

* Collaborate with a team of developers to design end-to-end systems and solutions

* Work with SCRUM and agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices, joining in on stand up, and pursuing continued learning opportunities

* Rapidly prototype new ideas, concepts, and designs


* Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and making API calls

* Experience working in a lean/agile development environment with remote teams

* Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills

* Knowledge of client-side single-page applications using modern frameworks like Angular, Vue, or React

* Excellent debugging and optimization skills

* Unit/integration testing experience
