Location: D.C. Metro (Springfield, VA)/ Remote
Metric5 is looking for a motivated Full Stack Javascript Engineer (React/Node/Nest.js) for work for a highly visible project for our NGA/DoD customer.
The ideal Full Stack Engineer has hands-on experience working in a true Agile environment in performing basic software code tasks, across multiple teams, with a focus in basic front-end development. Our software engineers serve in critical roles to test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
As a software engineer at Metric5, you will be responsible for the technical design, development, documentation, and engineering of software solutions using React, Node.js, Nest.js, LoopBack, and other JavaScript based frameworks for web development. Your primary responsibility will be the design and development of custom JavaScript applications that leverage a wide range of underlying data sources; including MySQL, MariaDB and other relational and non-relational databases.
The successful candidate will work directly with customers, test engineers, and other team members throughout all stages of the development lifecycle to implement application enhancements. You have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve on it.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience
- 3 + years of experience working with React, a JavaScript library for building user interfaces
- 3 + years of experience with unit and integration testing of code, with an understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks like Karma, Mocha
- 3 + years' Experience with Node.js, including Nest.js and Express
- Experience with Angular 1.x, jQuery, and other JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with Material UI, Bootstrap or other responsive, fluid design frameworks
- Strong knowledge and experience with HTML5 and CSS3
- At least one year of experience with agile development methodology, preferably SAFe or Scrum.
- At least one year of experience developing applications for enterprise business customers
Desired Skills:
- Nest.js experience preferred
- Experience with automated build tools, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience with JIRA or Redmine Agile Lifecycle Management software
- Experience with development and deployment into cloud environment
- Experience with RESTful, SOAP, and geospatial web services
- Experience with delivering remote unique complex Geospatial systems to the US Government strongly desired.
- Good oral and written communications skills with experience in delivering/presenting to the customer are a plus.
- SAFe certification
- Other related experience with fielded systems and mission/system operations along with system sustainment for high system availability requirements a plus
Education: Bachelors in a Technical Discipline - Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree (Desired not required)
Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience or more
Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance for this government position.
